Diving in Hurghada

Hurghada Coral Reefs - Real pictures from the reefs
Hurghada, with its wealth of shallow coral gardens, is the number one location on the Red Sea Riviera to learn to dive, and most diving centres offer the full range of beginners' courses.

Hurghada has it all for a perfect Red Sea diving holiday: hard and soft coral, turtles and dolphins, mantas and moray eels, napoleons and tuna, and much more, which makes it the world most famous and accessible diving destination.
The marine life is rich with over 1000 fish species and around 150 coral species, and most spectacular sites can be seen in less than 50 metres.

Hurghada is a gateway to some of the most exquisite diving sites in the Red Sea which has attracted divers from all over the world ever since the legendary Jacques Cousteau first dived the their amazing coral walls.

The reefs in the Red Sea are absolutely stunning, with a real diversity and abundance of marine life. Hurghada is also a popular starting point for extended dive trips, also called live boards or diving safaris. From here you can join a live aboard to the exceptional divesites of the Straits of Gubal with the wreck graveyard of Abu Nuhas, cruising over to the fabled Thistlegorm, the Red Sea 's most well known wreck.
For the adventurous The Red Sea is very deep in places (up to 2000m) averaging about 500m. The aquatic world of Hurghada tempts even the most amateur person to dive. The crystal clear waters are teaming with marine life, like no where else on earth.
